KCT-UK responds in emergencies to save lives; works with people to improve their lives through development projects on the issues that we believe will achieve lasting change and an end to poverty
 
Aim of all training projects is to create awareness about the importance of learning in the local communities and thereby are an important vehicle for people to become independent and self-empowered.

"What we do"

Currently we are working on following thematic areas:

 Rescue:

Just after the disaster, the team of

KCT immediately reached at  khursheed

National Library, in jalalabad an d saved the precious heritage of books.

 

  Relief: 

After the huge disaster the distribution activity of relief goods in more than 75 villages  saved the people from the menace of hunger and death.

 

Health:

Surgical OPD is developed in Abbas       Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS)

and crutches, artificial limbs,

walkers and wheel chairs are

provided to those who need it.

 

Education:

 

The children of Rajpiyan were

getting education under the open

sky. KCThas provided them shelter

within twenty days.

 

Livelihood support:

After passing a long time to the disaster, people yet, depend upon the others and the spirit of earning by hand, is completely eliminate from them. They are still, waiting for the arrival of international organizations that will come and support them. KCT has aroused the spirit of self respect in them by providing them fair means of livelihood.

 

Training for natural disasters:

The life in  camps became hazardous,

different types of hazards were faced

by the people, the most common is the fire hazard .KCT gave the training to its volunteers as well as the common people  living in camps to manage in such situation and for this purpose ,proper disaster management training sessions were organized.

 

Economic Regeneration :

:KCT has started work in economic regeneration through handicrafts and developing job opportunities by establishing two handicraft factories in Plate & Tariqabad.

The main objective is to enabling of the effected population to generate money for their necessities.

 

Gender Equality:

KCT is working for the  rights

of both  males & females, without

gender discrimination and CLC is

the evidence of its claim where

both males and females are getting

education on equal basis.

 

Volunteers Management:

KCT has more than 500 volunteers to whom it has trained for rescue and relief operations and assessment. The volunteers carried out various task including camp management, assessment, distribution of relief goods and ware house management. KCT has also celebrated memorandum day with its volunteers to carry out the people of disastrous areas from the fear of death and bring them back to normality of life.

 

Capacity Building:

Providing activities, resources and support to strengthen the skills and abilities of its volunteers as well as its personals, KCT organized several workshops. Now the team of KCT is able to use organizational resources effectively for the development and empowerment of community.  KCT has also decided to organize workshops for the capacity building of its local partner organizations KRRC & KYF
